Roccy DeFrancesco, JD, CAPP, CMP

Roccy DeFrancesco, JD, CAPP, CMP has been a thought-provoking disruptor in the industry for over 25 years. With books like Bad Advisors: How to Identify Them; How to Avoid Them, Retiring Without Risk, 5-Pillar Asset Protection, The Doctor’s Wealth Preservation Guide, and others he is known throughout the industry for his dedication to educating/mentoring advisors on number of topics including his favorite topic asset protection.

Asset Protection (AP) is the most important concept that very few advisors (financial planners, insurance agents, CPAs, and attorneys) are familiar with. The best estate/financial plan can be rendered meaningless if AP is not incorporated into a client’s plan.

Roccy received his B.S. degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (where he also received his commercial pilot’s license) and his J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law.  Roccy is licensed to practice law in Michigan (inactive license in Indiana).

Lauren DeFrancesco, MS

After earning a Master’s in Engineering, Science & Technology Entrepreneurship from the University of Notre Dame and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science with a minor in Information Systems Security, Lauren began her career in cybersecurity at KPMG. There, she helped Fortune 500 clients assess risk, implement cybersecurity frameworks, and navigate complex regulations—including China’s cybersecurity laws and specialized strategies for the gaming industry.

In 2024, Lauren joined her father, Roccy DeFrancesco, at OnPointe Software to bring precision and integrity to Roth conversion planning. Together, they co-authored Deconstructing Roth IRA Conversions: Myth vs. Reality—a bold exposé on the flawed math, misleading assumptions, and inaccurate software used by so-called “Roth experts.”

This is Lauren’s first book, and it holds special meaning for her—not only because of the mission behind it, but because she had the opportunity to learn directly from her dad. Known throughout the industry as the “client-first guy,” Roccy’s decades of experience and relentless focus on doing what’s best for consumers shaped both the book and Lauren’s philosophy in working with advisors.

Today, Lauren works directly with financial advisors to help design accurate Roth conversion scenarios using the OnPointe Risk Analyzer and Retirement Planner. Her mission is simple: eliminate guesswork and empower advisors with tools that uncover real, tax-efficient opportunities for their clients.

Whether she’s leading advisor training, enhancing software design, or consulting on complex Roth cases, Lauren’s commitment to transparency and precision has made her a trusted partner for advisors nationwide.
